Torino Hiking Group: Required Equipment
The following is a list of clothing and equipment required for the Torino Hiking Group excursions.
If you don't have every item, please get in touch with your guide.
- 25-30l backpack (with rainproof cover)
- Waterproof hiking shoes with a resistent sole (better if high-heels)
- Light waterproof hooded jacket (like k-ways)
- Waterproof trouser cover
- Compact downjacket
- Comfortable long trousers (even better if half detachable)
- Short or long thights (for cold weather and or windy days)
- Breathable pile sweater
- Two breathable t-shirts
- Thermal base layer
- Socks (thick or light, depending on the season)
- Scarf or neck warmer
- Headband/Beanie
- Sunglasses
- Gloves
- 1 liter water bottle
- Snacks (we recommend nuts, dried fruit and chocolate)
- First aid kit (bandages, band-aids, disinfectant, latex gloves, thermal blanket)
- Headlamp
- Sunscreen
- Swiss army knife (optional)
- Carabiners and ropes (optional, to attach equipment on the backpack if needed)
- Garbage bag
- Napkins/towels
Recommended for snow hikes
- Hiking poles, with cap and washer (mandatory for hikes on snow and/or ice)*
- Light crampons (mandatory on snow)*
- Gaiters (if not integrated in the trousers)
- Snowshoes*
*: for these items we can provide rental service. According to availability, the guide will give you the rented equipment at the meeting point.
