PROGRAM - BREITHORN SUMMIT CLIMB
Altitude gain +700 m.; lenght 13 km
About 3-4 hours of ascent and 2-3 of descent
Meeting with our Alpine Guide at the Cervinia cable car station (2.025 m.) and lift to Plateau Rosà (3.480 m.). Walking with crampons in roped party the adventure begins, at first following the skiing routes then leaving the trail that leads to the Klein Matterhorn and crossing the wide plateau of Breithorn Pass.
From here starts the most demanding part of the climb, with the ascent to the ridge of the two Breithorns (Western and Middle, 4.081 m.), then climbing to the Western Breithorn summit (4.165 m.).
From the summit the views are truly breathtaking: the Matterhorn, the Monte Rosa peaks, the Dent Blanche and the Waisshorn towering the Alpine skyline.
The descent follows the same "normal route" up to the Breithorn pass and Plateau Rosà afterwards, cable car back to Cervinia, where this glacier mountaineering adventure ends.
Side Note : due to the high altitude gap, it is possible to walk the last part of the cable car route to Plateau Rosà (the line has 3 stops).
The program can be customized, adding a overnight stay at the Guide del Cervino mountain hut for a better acclimatization.
