How to reach the Gran Paradiso Park from Turin or Aosta

The Gran Paradiso National Park is located in the Alps of two Italy regions, Piedmont and Aosta Valley. The southern side of the Park is in Piedmont, and the main villages are Pont Canavese, Locana, Noasca and Ceresole Reale in Orco Valley and Valprato Soana in the Soana Valley. The northern side of the Park is in Aosta Valley, and the main villages are Cogne, Pont Valsavarenche, Rhemes de Notre Dame, located in the namesake valleys.

HOW TO REACH GRAN PARADISO NATIONAL PARK BY CAR

The main road going to Piedmont side passes by Rivarolo Canavese, from there follow the indications to Ceresole Reale. If you want to reach Soana Valley, turn at Pont Canavese (after Rivarolo, see road signs).

To reach the Aosta Valley side, simply follow the road signs from Aosta (Aosta Ovest highway exit) to Cogne, Valsavarenche and Rhemes.

HOW TO REACH THE PARK WITH PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Piedmont valleys can be reached with GTT (the local public transportation company) buses.

From Turin you can reach the park by bus: at the bus station located in Via Fiochetto hop on a bus towards Rivarolo (click here for the timetables) or by train, using the SFM1 line that links the station of Turin Porta Susa to the Rivarolo and Pont ones. Here are the timetables

Then, from Pont or Rivarolo you can reach Orco Valley or Soana Valley with the following buses:

To reach the Aosta Valley side of the park:

Aosta, the main town in the region, can be reached from Torino with SAVDA buses (click here for further information) or with Flixbus.

Valsavarenche and Rhemes Valleys can be reached with SAVDA buses (info), and the valleys around Cogne with SVAP buses - click here for more info

FROM OTHER COUNTRIES

You can reach the park landing at the Turin (Caselle) or Aosta airports, then follow the indications above.
